Scale
- 1.5 lbs cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
Instructions
- Preheat: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Steam: Place broccoli florets in a steamer basket over boiling water and steam for 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp; drain well.
- Whisk: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, heavy cream, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth.
- Mix Cheese: Stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese into the cream mixture.
- Combine: Fold the cooked chicken and steamed broccoli into the sauce until every piece is thoroughly coated.
- Transfer: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
- Top: Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese on top is melted and slightly golden.
Notes
Use a rotisserie chicken to save prep time. Ensure broccoli is drained very well to prevent the casserole from becoming watery. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
